Anchored Not Anxious
Trust God with the Hezekiah Method
Do you wish you had a mental security system? One that keeps out intrusive and unhelpful thoughts. It's enough to control your own doubt and questioning, but Satan's attacks too? The enemy can rattle even the most faithful, like King Hezekiah.
Listen to what Hezekiah did to beat down the psychological warfare threatening his trust in God.
Perfect for anyone battling doubt, feeling spiritually attacked, or wanting to move from passive to powerful prayer.
Welcome to Anchored Not Anxious. This is 3 minutes to Anchored. The subject: Secure your Trust in God
There’s a story in Isaiah 37 of the Old Testament.
Hezekiah, king of Judah, received a letter from the Assyrian king saying, “Don’t let your god deceive you when he says Assyria will not take Jerusalem. It’s a lie.”
The Assyrian king used psychological warfare to beat down Hezekiah. So, Hezekiah did the only thing he knew to do. He took that letter into the temple of the Lord and spread it out, with a belief God could see it.
Like the King of Assyria, Satan uses lies and doubt to rock your trust in God.
Is there an area where you are vulnerable to this kind of attack by the enemy?
Are deceptive thoughts attempting to pierce your trust?
Do like Hezekiah. Power pray.
Maybe you’re rolling your eyes because prayer feels like a passive act. Maybe you aren’t really sure God cares enough to intercede in your situation. Or, you doubt your prayer has any power to move God.
Been there. Check, check, check, and check.
Then I got serious about prayer. I chose to stop doubting my prayers could move God or change me.
Step one: Believe your prayer has power to move God.
Step 2: Look for God to show up. Look for what the Holy Spirit is doing in you and around you.
By watching for God in your day to day life, this creates a mental security system alerting you to deceptive thoughts. Not every prayer will get answered or answered the way you think it should.
Your prayer moves God. And God is moved by love for us but the timing is up to God and how he chooses to respond. Your trust in God grows by watching and listening to what God is doing.
God is for you and with you.
